There is always love. Love of the other, whether the other be a person or a god.
 
There is always war. War against defined enemies but mostly against the inner demons that manifest in so much more than our dreams.
 
And there are always questions. Why and who are we? Will our being in our time and place have mattered? To whom? For what?
 
Every cemetery, churchyard, or necropolis cries out these questions, unceasingly, as do those who still live, who are compelled, consciously or not, to proclaim: I was here.
 
This collection of forty-five poems, four short stories, and one essay is a compilation of some of the expressions of love, war, and the questions every person must ask, knowing there will be no answers that aren’t shadows formed by the temporary moments of cognizance the Cosmos has permitted us.
